Join us for a discussion of the hero’s response to challenge and provocation as we explore the values which create character out of conflict and chaos. By looking at classical epic poetry in Homer's The Iliad, modern prose fiction in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter, and the contemporary rap music of Grandmaster Flash, Dr. Herron and Professor Lynk will examine the common elements and clear distinctions between
various illustrations of heroism.
